With the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) being in compliance with the state’s administrative rules for jails and lockups during the Ionia County Jail’s 2009 inspection, the ICSO was awarded the Certificate of Achievement Award from the Michigan Department of Corrections. This is the seventh year in a row for the ICSO, and it show’s that the facility is clean and well maintained, and the staff is professional. “It’s something that we work hard at, and we like the compliance awards,” said ICSO Jail Administrator Lie Mark Jones, who has been involved with preparations for yearly jail inspections since 1991. “We will just continue to strive.” The award was presented to Ionia County Sheriff Dwain Dennis and Jones June 14.
