JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A sergeant with the Department of Corrections was hired to maintain order at Florida State Prison, but now he's found himself in jail. Alto Daniels, 39, is accused of stealing an air-conditioning unit from a home on the Westside. Daniels was dismissed Monday from his job, a position he's held since May 2008. "The A/C unit was located right here until he stole it from me," said Wayne Bennett, pointing at an empty concrete slab beside his rental property on Noroad. Read More. |
