| Laker fans' reaction show sports riots are far from a thing of the past |

While they aren't quite as prevalent as they once were, post championship riots are not totally a thing of the past. After the Lakers won a decisive Game Seven on Thursday night the scene in East Los Angeles turned ugly with people jumping on cars, throwing rocks and bottles at police officers and looting. Illogical? Of course. Disturbing in 2010? Undoubtedly. At least 20 people were arrested late Thursday in Los Angeles, and that number was expected to rise to a higher total, L.A police lieutenant John Romero said.
