NEW IPSWICH – Edward DiBattista’s plans to build a farm and rescue horses started big. Somewhere along the way, they fell apart. He is now serving a six-month stint in jail for check fraud, forced to leave behind the horses he pledged to save. On June 9, New Ipswich Police Chief Garrett Chamberlain said someone called his department asking for police to check on DiBattista’s welfare; he was allegedly making threats to his own safety.
