| NH DOC Asks For Money |

CONCORD, NH -- The New Hampshire Community College System and McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center are among the state agencies presenting funding requests this week to the governor's office for capital projects. Gov. John Lynch opened two days of hearings on the requests on Monday. Lynch said he received 178 proposals totaling $635 million. The projects are competing for about $130 million in borrowing backed by state taxes. On Monday, the Department of Corrections asked for $37 million to build a new women's prison. Advocates have complained for years that women inmates need more space for programs. Read More. |
