BOISE — Omar Salinas Zamudio, 30, of Nampa, was sentenced today to 96 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a firearm, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced. The investigation began in July 2009, when a confidential informant working with the Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force and the Nampa Police Department reported that Zamudio had offered to provide him with methamphetamine. Between Aug. 23 and Oct. 27, Zamudio reportedlt distributed methamphetamine to the confidential informant on six occasions. On Nov. 10, during service of a search warrant at Zamudio’s residence, investigators found approximately 3/4 of a pound of methamphetamine, a firearm, and more than $30,000 in cash. Zamudio later admitted to selling approximately one pound of methamphetamine a month as his sole source of income. Read More. |
