A former East Feliciana Parish police juror accused of hitting a former girlfriend with a small board and his fist, fracturing her face, was sentenced to one year in prison Monday. State District Judge Tony Marabella immediately remanded Chris Ferguson Sr. to the custody of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for transfer to the state Department of Corrections. Marabella, who sentenced Ferguson, 36, to five years at hard labor but suspended all but one year, also ordered him to pay $3,300 in restitution to the victim for her medical expenses. Read More. |
