| Guard Fired For Sharing Inmate's Clothes |

A correctional officer has been fired from Lackawanna County Prison for inappropriate behavior, including borrowing and wearing a male inmate's sneakers while on duty. Former Correctional Officer Tammy Miller, who was dismissed Thursday, also was accused of making regular, weekly visits with a female inmate while on duty and was alleged to have improperly brought an inmate a bag of commissary items. She was hired in August 2005. The charges are detailed in a two-page termination letter written by Warden Janine Donate that outlines almost 20 employee policies violated by the actions of Ms. Miller that resulted from a disciplinary hearing a Wednesday.
