SAN ANTONIO - For nearly 40 years, young boys who found themselves on the wrong side of the law were sent to a facility in Pasco County in an effort to spare them from jail. That facility may be empty now, but it is hoping to make a comeback. Brian Guerard should be at home enjoying a day off. Instead, the manager from a Zephyrhills Home Depot store is hard at work painting at the San Antonio Boys Village. "We like to participate in local projects," Guerard said. "We're a part of the community, we live in the community, especially for kids in an intervention program." The San Antonio Boys Village once housed youthful offenders who were trying to avoid going to prison. Late last year, the Florida Department of Corrections terminated its contract with the Boys Village. It was the only facility of its kind in eastern Pasco County when its clients were transferred.
