PANAMA CITY — Police were looking for a “known gang member” Tuesday night after a shooting on the east side of town, where one man survived a gunshot to the back. The suspect, according to a lookout broadcast over police radio, was Carron J. Cobb, a 16-year-old boy who was released from state prison earlier this year. “Under no circumstances are you to stop him by yourself,” one officer warned others looking for Cobb’s black Chevrolet Impala last seen headed north on Everitt Avenue, away from the Gardner Dickinson Memorial Homes, where the victim was shot. The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. in the apartment complex parking lot, and minutes later, neighbors lined the streets as police surrounded the scene.
