| Murder For Hire Convicted Sentenced |

The first of three individuals allegedly involved in the death of Aberdeen resident John Carpenter was sentenced this week. Common Pleas Judge Scott Gusweiler sentenced Mt. Orab resident Sarah Clemens to three years in the Ohio Department of Corrections. Clemens was originally charged with complicity to aggravated murder for her role in the alleged murder-for-hire of Aberdeen resident John Carpenter. According to information from the Brown County Sheriff's Office, Tincher allegedly paid Hensley $900 to kill Carpenter at his home in Aberdeen. Carpenter was discovered dead from a gunshot wound in his home on April 20. Tincher and Hensley could potentially face the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted. Clemens, who was Hensley's girlfriend, was charged with complicity to aggravated murder since she was allegedly aware of the plot and had not taken measures to stop it. However, the Brown County grand jury declined to indict her on the charge, and instead issued an indictment for obstructing justice, a third-degree felony.
