| Wounded Warrior To Reveive Inmate-Trained Service Dog |

JUNEAU – A wounded warrior will receive the third service dog trained by inmates at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center in Eagle River. Sha-Rin, a chow mix, was donated by the Mat-Su Borough Animal Shelter to the prison program and has been in training for 18 months. Sha-Ren will be formally presented to PFC Garrett by Governor Sean Parnell on behalf of the state and the borough at 11 am, Tuesday, July 13. Media are invited to attend. WHAT: Formal transfer of Sha-Ren to PFC Garrett WHERE: Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, Eagle River WHEN: 11 am, Tuesday, July 13. Media can set-up beginning at 10 am. An opportunity to interview recipient, family, inmate trainers will be provided following the formal transfer event.
