One of four people from North Platte accused of sexually assaulting of a 15-year-old girl has changed his plea. Monday in District Court, Rex Yates withdrew a prior plea of not guilty in return for one of no contest. He was 27 when the assaults allegedly occurred. First-degree sexual assault is a Class Two felony, punishable by up to 50 years in prison. Yates, his wife, Samantha Grant, Jacob Hays and Ryan Winters were arrested in September. In June, Lincoln County District Court Judge John Murphy denied a motion to suppress an initial interview of Yates, which recorded his confession to repeatedly sexually assaulting the teen. href="http://www.nptelegraph.com/articles/2010/07/13/news/60006802.txt"target="_new">Read More. |
