A Crenshaw County Jail escapee has been taken back into custody not far from the jail, authorities said. Christopher Poole escaped from the jail about 4 p.m. Monday and was recaptured about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Poole was serving time on two previous escape charges along with violating the state's sex offender law, Chief Deputy Jimmy Lecroy said. Poole's previous escape charges were related to incidents in which police officers were trying to apprehend him, Lecroy said. Poole now faces an additional escape charge. Read More. |
