| Motorcycle Crash Claims Prison Guard's Life |

A York County Prison corrections officer died of injuries he suffered when a car turned into the path of his motorcycle Wednesday night in West Manchester Township, police said. Jonathan Sowers, 34, of West Manchester Township, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday at York Hospital following the 11:26 p.m. crash, according to the York County Coroner's Office, which has ruled his death accidental. Sowers died of multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner's office said; he was not wearing a helmet. Northern York County Regional Police said Sowers was riding his Harley-Davidson Road King northbound on Roosevelt Avenue, about 150 yards north of Greenbriar Road, when a southbound Hyundai Sonata tried to turn left into the parking lot of the Rutter's Farm Store.
