An inmate at the Houston County Jail has been charged with felony assault on two corrections officers after he allegedly threw a cleaning agent that contained bleach on them. Court records show Houston County Sheriff’s investigators charged Christopher Dwayne Owens, 36, with two felony counts of second-degree assault. Records show the charges stemmed from an incident that happened on June 27. Houston County Jail Commander Keith Reed said the two officers, Bruce Graham and Kelly Landreau, were not seriously injured in the assault. Reed said Graham was taken to the emergency room at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment. He said Graham returned to duty at the jail after missing one day of work. He said Landreau also required medical treatment, but did not have to go to the hospital. Read More. |
