| Arson Charges Filed Against IL Man |

A La Salle man could face 4-15 years in prison if convicted of setting fire to the residence where he lived. Joshua J. Hoyt, 29, of 237 Tonti St. is charged with residential arson, a Class 1 felony, for allegedly setting fire to his home late Monday night. The residence sustained $30,000 in damage, La Salle firefighters said, though the fire was extinguished in less than 15 minutes. Bond was expected to be heard later this morning in La Salle County Circuit Court, but even if Hoyt can post the needed 10 percent in cash he is unlikely to be released from La Salle County Jail. Soon after the fire, the Illinois Department of Corrections issued a no-bond warrant for a parole violation. Read More. |
