ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- A former Upstate pastor who escaped custody in May while serving time for setting his church ablaze was arrested in Asheville. Christopher Patrick Daniels was arrested Tuesday on a second-degree trespass charge alleging he broke or entered an office trailer on Lyman Avenue belonging to Asheville Metal and Recycling. Pickens County authorities had issued a warrant for Daniels in May when he was charged with escape from prison. The state department of corrections said Daniels walked away from his work assignment May 4 at the Pickens County Landfill. Read More. |
