GLOUCESTER TWP. — A violent crime spree ended in death for a Williamstown man who was shot by law enforcement officers during an arrest attempt here Wednesday, authorities said. Naquan Johnson, 21, who was wanted in connection with a sexual assault and a shooting in Collingswood early Wednesday, was killed inside a home in the 200 block of Cherrywood Drive at 6:30 p.m., according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Two members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force found Johnson in an upstairs bedroom with a handgun and shot him after the suspect made a threatening gesture, the prosecutor's office said. The officers were taken to local hospitals for evaluation. Neither sustained any significant injuries, officials said. Additional details were not immediately available. Read More. |
