FRENCH CAMP - Objecting to Loren Herzog's imminent parole in San Joaquin County, Sheriff Steve Moore on Thursday pleaded for the community to join a chorus of voices in protest by calling and sending letters to the governor and California's top prison official. This came as correctional officials in Sacramento said they are further considering Herzog's placement, because at least two more victim-witnesses in the San Joaquin County have petitioned to keep Herzog 35 miles from their homes. San Joaquin County Sheriff Steve Moore asked local citizens Thursday to express their objection to Loren Herzog's release to San Joaquin County by calling or writing to: Luis PatiƱo, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman, would not go so far as to say that Herzog will be paroled outside of San Joaquin County.
