Published: 07/30/2010

Recently, Sheriff Cabral and Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department staff members visited the Savin Hill Apartments in Dorchester to attend their annual cookout. Sheriff Cabral talked about safety tips for seniors while staff members administered the Sheriff’s Department Senior ID program to residents in need of their own ID card offered through the department.

On July 23, Suffolk County Sheriff's Department Corporal Robert Connelly and Sergeant Corey Lewis, along with their K9 partners Simba and Kam, visited the John W. McCormack School in the Harbor Point section of Dorchester. In this photograph, Cprl. Connelly had K9 Simba showcase his keen sense of smell with a demonstration on his ability to detect hidden narcotics for the students at the school.

Sheriff Cabral took part in the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, July 25. During the parade, Sheriff Cabral took time out to stop at the BNN cable production tent to speak with parade host Fernando Bossa and co-host Dr. Marisel Marrero before returning to the route, which began at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center and stretched through Egleston Square before ending at Franklin Park.
