Sheriff’s office and county officials have said many times, both publicly and privately, that the Baker County Commission and Baker Correctional Development Corporation [BCDC] are separate entities largely independent from one another. But both are suffering revenue shortfalls and the BCDC’s operating losses aren’t helping the county’s dependence on reserves.
