BRUNSWICK - The Georgia Supreme Court will review the case of a Brunswick man facing the death penalty if convicted of murdering a woman whose body was discovered in a motel bathtub three years ago. John David Clay, 33, is awaiting trial on malice murder and false imprisonment charges in the slaying of Janice Gayle Swain, 47, also of Brunswick, on March 4, 2007. Glynn County police found Swain dead with multiple stab wounds in the bathtub of a room at Guest Cottages north of downtown Brunswick. Investigators recovered a Swiss Army-style knife near her fully clothed body, and a crack pipe inside the room, officials said previously. Read More. |
