Officials continue to investigate the death of a Whitley County Detention Center inmate who died Wednesday at Jellico Community Hospital in Tennessee. Ronald Shannon Lawson, 26, a Jellico-born resident of Williamsburg, was jailed Saturday following his arrest by Williamsburg Police Officer Brandon White for first-degree possession of a controlled substance, speeding and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Byrd.
