| CA Parole Reform Breaking New Ground |

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Calling it "the greatest reform efforts in our history," California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Division of Adult Parole Operations Director Robert Ambroselli announced major systemic reforms Tuesday. Top among the reforms, the CDCR will reduce parole agents' caseloads from the current 70 parolees to one agent to 48 parolees to one agent. Ambroselli also announced other changes that he said would provide closer supervision for at-risk parolees and provide better public protection. Many of the reforms took effect on Aug. 1, phasing in 2009 legislation passed by the California Legislature and signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
