| Statutory Rape Lands Man 30 Years |

Jeffrey Stovall, 25, was sentenced to 30 years for statutory rape Wednesday in Lamar County. 15th District Circuit Court Judge Prentiss G. Harrell handed down the sentence for the 2008 rape of a 12-year-old. Stovall pleaded guilty late last month. The sentence is to be served day-for-day without eligibility of parole or early release. The first 20 years are to be served in state prison, and the remaining 10 are to be on post-release supervision by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Read More. |
