Man Sentenced For Kidnapping Case

A Bath man was sentenced to prison Monday in an abduction and police chase in April that ended on a Jacksonville Country Club fairway.

John W. Turner, 34, pleaded guilty to felony charges of unlawful restraint, damage to property over $300 and aggravated fleeing or eluding police. A plea agreement called for Turner to be sentenced on each count to a concurrent three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections plus one year’s supervised parole.

He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol charge and was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

He will serve all the sentences at the same time.
