WILKES-BARRE - The Luzerne County Correctional Facility expects to get its first 100 percent score from a state inspection, Warden Joseph Piazza said at Monday's prison board meeting. The state Department of Corrections inspected the prison on Aug. 3, 4 and 5, and the prison has to change the language to a few policies to be 100 percent in compliance, Piazza said. "The staff did a great job," Piazza said. "Everybody worked hard. So it turned out well." Facilities are either 100-percent compliant, or they are not, said Susan McNaughton, press secretary for the state Department of Corrections. "⦠The inspectors were very pleased with the facility - that it looks great - and the new administration has been making great strides in becoming compliant," McNaughton said. "We can't release information until the report is actually finalized." Piazza said state inspectors looked at the prison's physical structure, staff moral, inmate reactions and security measures.
