News 4 WOAI uncovered new information in a drug investigation involving a Bexar County corrections officer. Narcotics investigators say the guard was conspiring to smuggle cocaine into the jail. Jail administrators say 27-year-old Christopher Nieto resigned June 8th after investigators allegedly found marijuana in his car. They searched his car after narcotics officers heard Nieto was going to deliver cocaine to an inmate. Investigators say they found a small quantity of pot. Nieto claimed that it was not his, and it was somebody else's car, investigators say. "Nieto's lawyer says investigators didn't find marijuana, only residue," Deputy Chief Amadeo Ortiz said. "The residue is being analyzed at a lab." Nieto's lawyers claim the search, seizure and Nieto's arrest were illegal. His case goes to the District Attorney's Office this week. |
