New Website For GPS Monitored Parolees

Corrections officials have set up a new web page to notify the public when a GPS-monitored parolee goes on the run.

The move comes after a 17 News investigation revealed state parole agents never notify the public when a monitored offender goes missing.

That's because there is no law requiring them to do so.

The public had no warning in July when registered sex offender German Baeza cut off his GPS ankle monitor and went on to kidnap and rape two women, including a 15 year old girl.

The new web page will have the parolee's name, physical description, picture and last known whereabouts.
