| Green Bay Not Home To Untreated Sex Offenders |

Some sex offenders could find it more difficult to relocate to Green Bay without proving they have completed court-ordered treatment. The city's Sex Offender Residency Board unanimously agreed Wednesday that it will not consider an offender to have completed treatment — for sex offenses, drugs and alcohol, or anger issues — without a letter or other proof from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Offenders without such proof still can apply to move into or change addresses within the city, board member Dean Gerondale said. But, he said, the board will treat the application as if treatment has not been completed. A 2007 city ordinance prohibits sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of schools, parks and other places where children gather. That covers about 90 percent of the city, and those wishing to move to restricted areas must appeal to the five-member board. Read More. |
