Two inmates suffered minor injuries during a brief melee Thursday evening at the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco. The injured inmates were among about 20 who began fighting around 5:30 p.m., said George Kostyrko, spokesman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. "It appears there were about 10 Latinos fighting with about 10 blacks," Kostyrko said. "It was a very short fight." As the brawl began, prison personnel stepped in and broke it up using pepper spray, he said. The two injured inmates were taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment. They were expected to be returned to the prison Thursday night. Read More. |
