| Judge's Killer Goes To Trial |

Jurors will be selected beginning Monday for the trial of a man charged with murdering Jesup municipal Judge Glenn Thomas Jr., the former longtime Brunswick Judicial Circuit district attorney. Bobby Rex Stribling, 49, faces the death penalty if convicted of killing Thomas, 74, who was beaten during a lunch-time robbery at his law office in downtown Jesup on June 25, 2007. Thomas died on July 9, 2007, while hospitalized with severe head injuries suffered in the attack. Superior Court Judge E.M. Wilkes Jr. ordered the jury be empaneled from Coffee County residents in the adjacent Waycross Judicial Circuit because of pretrial publicity and the fact that Thomas was well-known in the five-county Brunswick Circuit.
