| Mississippi Escapee Arrested Across Country |

Detroit -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man Monday who had previously escaped from a jail in Clarke County, Mississippi. William Jackson of Hammond, La., was nabbed about 4:20 p.m. in a home on the 19000 block of Charest, a day after his birthday, Detroit police said in a press release. He had escaped while awaiting transport to prison after being sentenced to 15 years for possession of methamphetamines, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Jackson suffered cuts scaling a 12-foot, razor wire fence and possibly broke a foot during his escape, according to the Meridian Star. Read More. |
