| Man Pleads Guilty To Threatening President of USA |

An inmate at a Missouri state corrections center who admitted he threated to kill President Barack Obama was sentenced in St. Louis federal court Tuesday to two and a half years in prison. Josh R. McCallum, 33, of Neosho, Mo., pleaded guilty in May to a felony count of threatening the president of the United States. In August 2009, McCallum was incarcerated at the Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green, Mo., when he mailed a letter with the threat. According to the indictment, McCallum wrote: “The president needs to be shot for f---ing our country around like he has. If I was out there I would do it myself or at least try to. Anyone who has f---ed our country over like this needs to die...When I get out all those I've mentioned will be dealt with. Let them know I will be coming.” U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey sentenced McCallum to 30 months. Federal guidelines set the penalty at 30 to 37 months. McCallum must served the sentence in federal custody after he completes his sentences for state charges – which are set to expire in 2018. Read More. |
