| Woman's Boyfriend Pleads Guilty In Her Death |

AURORA | A man accused of killing his girlfriend in 2009 pleaded guilty last week to manslaughter under a plea agreement with prosecutors. Kotch Ouellette, 39, was scheduled to go to trial Monday morning in Arapahoe County District Court but last week accepted the plea agreement and a sentence of 12 years in prison. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped a more serious second-degree murder charge against Ouellette, who was accused of causing the April 16, 2009 death of Jennifer Sheppard, 45. According to Colorado Department of Corrections records, Ouellette will be eligible for parole in April 2015. Sheppard’s mother, Ruth Ann Groff, issued a statement Monday that said the sentencing “does not — and cannot bring closure to Jennifer’s family.
