Escaped Arizona inmate John McCluskey and his fiancee, Casslyn Welch, who have been on the lam since July 30, were captured in Apache County in northeastern Arizona, authorities confirmed late Thursday. The U.S. Forest Service was believed to have played a role in their capture, though details remained sketchy. Authorities scheduled a 1:15 a.m. EDT briefing at Arizona Department of Corrections headquarters to discuss the capture. Corrections officials have said Welch, who also is McCluskey's cousin, helped the convict and inmates Tracy Province and Daniel Renwick escape from a private prison facility near Kingman by cutting through a security fence.
