State Auditor Susan Montee’s office completed an audit of Missouri’s 114 county-maintained sex offender registries as well as the City of St. Louis’ registry, finding that non-compliance improved from 36 percent in 2002 to 7 percent on March 31, 2010.

The audit also reported that 17 of Polk County’s 48 registered sex offenders were non-compliant on that date.

Bruce said there were and continue to be discrepancies between the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s registry and the county’s registry.
