An inmate at the Sterling Correctional Facility in Colorado has escaped from prison on Sunday, the Colorado Department of Corrections has confirmed. 48-year-old Douglas J. Alward, an inmate convicted of attempted murder, was last seen at around 9 in the evening and was nowhere in sight during the roll call an hour later. Katherine Sanguinetti, a spokeswoman for the Department, warned that the escaped man “should be considered dangerous.” Alward is a white man with a shaved head, stands 6 feet and 1 inch tall, and weighs 152 pounds.
