Meth Cooking Teacher Out Of Prison

Maria Stancati was released from prison sentence Monday after serving 14 months of her 20 year sentence.

When she was sentenced in June 2009, Judge Jerome Frese gave her a 20-year probation, which was to be served in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

On Monday Judge Frese brought Stancati back to court and amended the location of her probation to the Dismas House in South Bend.

Stancati and her sister Michelle were Elkhart teachers when the home they were living in caught fire. It was determined the fire started because they were producing methamphetamine in the home.
