GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Wayne Kuipers wants to see the Department of Corrections director on Tuesday to find out how Jack Jacqmain's status as a parolee slipped away when he was transferred from jail to two mental health facilities. Kuipers, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has followed the story of Jacqmain, who's wanted for the fatal stabbing of an Indianapolis man at a Walker motel on August 18. When Jacqmain was transferred from the Kent County Jail to different mental health facilities -- all under the oversight of the DOC -- his parolee status was not communicated clearly, and he walked away from a facility.
