| Girlfriend Killer Trys Suicide In Prison |

SAN QUENTIN, Calif. -- A Santa Rosa man convicted of brutally stabbing his girlfriend and hiding her body in a toy box in their apartment tried to commit suicide at San Quentin State Prison Monday. Honorio Pantaleon, 33, was found hanging by a sheet tied to a locker in his cell on the third tier of the prison's reception center, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokeswoman Terry Thornton said. Pantaleon also cut his neck, Thornton said, and was in critical condition at a hospital Tuesday. Correctional officers discovered found him during a security check around 1:25 p.m., Thornton said. He arrived at the prison in March and was being kept alone in a cell. He was still being processed to determine where he would spend his sentence, Thornton said. Read More. |
