DANVILLE, Ky. — Dr. Steven Hall, convicted Tuesday night of second-degree manslaughter in the 2009 death of his wife, could be eligible for parole shortly after his sentencing in October. Hall, 48, a graduate of Dalhousie medical school, was accused of murdering his wife, Isabel, 49, after she was struck by a pontoon boat on Herrington Lake. Steven Hall, who did not take the stand during the trial, has said it was an accident. His wife was born in Cape Breton. A Boyle Circuit Court jury on Wednesday recommended that Hall serve a five-year sentence, the lightest penalty for the crime, which carries a maximum possible punishment of five to 10 years in prison.
