ND Town Worried About Felon Occupants

A potential buyer for a vacant building in downtown Bismarck has raised some concerns with nearby businesses.

The building at 117 North 3rd Street has been used as an assisted living facility and housing transition center.

But it`s been for sale and could come under new ownership next week.

The Kensington building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The 4 story building has 69 rooms, and is zoned as commercial which makes renting the rooms perfectly legal.

But local business owners are worried that the new owner will be renting the rooms to sex offenders and convicted felons.
