Parole Revoked For AL Suspect

A parolee charged in connection with a brutal Aug. 11 home invasion in Elmore County has had his parole revoked.

Ricky Lemar Dumas, 46, of Tallassee appeared before the Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles on Monday, said Robert Oakes, assistant executive director of the state board.

The board revoked his parole and ruled he won't be reconsidered for parole in the next five years, Oakes said.

At the time of the attacks on Roy and Mary Parker in the Elmore County community of Friendship, Dumas was on parole for a similar attack in Macon County. He pleaded guilty to robbery and assault in 1998 in an attack on Joe Abercrombie, 65, of Notasulga, court records show.
