A state corrections employee was the host of a party that turned into a brawl early last Sunday morning, the Department of Corrections said last Tuesday. The employee, a secretary with the department, had held a picnic earlier last Saturday for family at the state QWL, or ''work life'' building on Matteawan Road, said Superintendent William Mazzuca of the Fishkill Correctional Facility. At night, the same employee held a graduation party that included a larger group of friends and went late into last Sunday morning. It was that group of people, numbering several hundred according to police, that drew the attention of 10 local police agencies when fights broke out near the building. |
