A Bristol woman, with her children in tow, is accused of passing prescription pills to an inmate at the Bucks County corrections center.

A Bristol woman had her four young children with her when she smuggled pills used to treat opiate addiction into the Bucks County Men's Community Corrections Center and gave them to an inmate who planned to use the drugs and sell them to other inmates, court papers revealed Tuesday.

Now, Stephanie Scancella, 25, and inmate Frederick J. Anderson, 27, formerly of Bristol, face second-degree felony contraband charges, which are each punishable by up to 10 years in prison if proved.

Scancella, who lives on Brook Street, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Mark D. Douple, who set bail at $50,000 unsecured on the condition that Scancella does not come within 500 feet of Anderson or discuss the case with him in phone conversations.

you know this happen more more officers sneaking drugs cell phone into the prisons also civillans. because they think that the inmates are there freinds. they need to read the book games inmates plays also this comes from not enough training and hireing people that have n,t work even as a security guard.the inmates cant get the phones they are coming in through the front door some officers just feel like they want to be popluar with the inmates and feel that the only way to get the inmates to do anything is to put there career at risk it not worth it.and the dept of corrections have taken away the power from the correctional officers.
