NY Motel No Longer Allowing Parolees

— Sex offenders and others released from the New York state penal system will not be taking up residence at the B-Cozy Motel.

Residents from North Tonawanda and Wheatfield were assured of that during a meeting hosted by area politicians, held Monday evening at Rescue Fire Hall in North Tonawanda. During the “community safety meeting,” residents learned about efforts from Third Ward Alderman Eric Zadzilka to organize a neighborhood watch program.

The motel at 1200 Niagara Falls Blvd. was cast into the spotlight last year when residents learned that a level-3 sex offender (a high probability of repeat offenses) was living there. Further scrutiny was placed on the state’s department of corrections when it was pointed out the offender should not have been placed there because of the B-Cozy’s proximity to a private school.
