| VT Improves Sex Offender Monitoring |

A two-week police sweep through Franklin and Grand Isle counties to check on registered sex offenders was announced Tuesday by the Vermont State Police. Registered sex offenders total 180 in the two counties, said Lt. Tom Hango, who is coordinating the operation. Of those, 94 offenders are not under the supervision of the Department of Corrections, and officers will check on whether these offenders are living at the addresses reported in their registrations. For the 86 other offenders who are under supervision, officers will check their residence and whether they are abiding by their conditions of release.
