| FL Prison Finds Guard Smuggling Drugs |

A correctional officer has been arrested after taking money and marijuana from an undercover agent to sell the drug in Tomoka Correctional Institution near Daytona Beach, state officials said today. Shantell Adkins, 22, is charged with sale and delivery of marijuana, money laundering and use of a two-way communication during the commission of a felony. Adkins was arrested Wednesday by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Investigators started looking into Adkins based on information developed and provided by the Florida Department of Corrections Inspector General's Office, officials said. Read More. |
